
Faculty Development Program on “Excellence in Teaching Practices and Research Techniques: Pharma and Biotech Perspective”
The Pharmacy Department of Chandigarh Group of Colleges, Landran jointly organized a 5 days faculty development program on the topic “Excellence in Teaching Practices and Research Techniques: Pharma and Biotech Perspective” from 3rd to 7th July 2023. The guest of honor for the inauguration ceremony was Dr. Asish Pal, Scientist F from the Institute of Nanoscience and Technology (INST), Mohali. Dr. Pal addressed the faculty members and gave an interesting insight on the topic “Pushing the limit of Smart Supramolecular Nanobiomaterials”. This was followed by a session by Dr. Mohit Mishra, Dir. Operations, Lifenity Wellness Pvt. Ltd.on Challenges of nanotechnology in hydrogel. Post lunch there was a lecture by Mr. Venugopal Swami Challa, Business Development, Sr. manager, Masuu Global Solutions Pvt. Ltd. on use of Common technical document (CTD): Regulatory guidelines. This was followed by a lecture by an eminent scientist Dr. Ravi Mishra, Principal Scientist, IMTECH, Chandigarh. He spoke at length on the topic “Disruptive innovations in vaccine discovery and development”.
On day 2 Dr. Neeraj Kumar Singh (Deputy Librarian, Panjab University, Chandigarh) gave a comprehensive lecture on Research support tools for academic research. The second session was by Mr. Sandeep, Pine Biotech,USA who spoke about Molecular docking. Post lunch session was by Mr. Sanchit Jain, State Head, and Institutional program, Art of Living on health, happiness and stress management.
On the third dayMs. Meenakshi, Founder White Lily, Ambala explained the importance of effective communication skill at workplace. Ms. Rachna Manchanda, Assistant Professor, CEC, CGC spoke on CO-PO-PSO attainment.
On the 4th day Dr. Pawan KrishanProf.&Head, Pharmacy Practice, Punjabi University, Patialagave a lecture on the various aspects of Drug discovery and development. Dr. Aruna Bhatia Prof.&Dean Retd, Punjabi University, Patiala gave a very informative and knowledgeable lecture on Allergies with an Emphasis on food allergies. Post lunch Dr. Ashutosh Tripathi demonstrated the use of Lexicomp software which is used for drug information services. On the 5th day all faculty went for a visit to Central Research Institute, Kasauli. At CRI, Kasauli research and development in the field of immunology and vaccinology is done.
The event was attended by approximately 40 faculties from Pharmacy. At the end of The Faculty Development programme the guests handed over certificates to all the participants.
It was a great learning experience for all the faculty members and the event ended successfully.
