World Pharmacist Day-2025

With the aim of creating awareness on Pharmacy and role played by Pharmacists among the students, World Pharmacist Day was celebrated by Pharmacy Department of Chandigarh Group of Colleges, Landran on 25th September 2025. Firstly, Director Principal, Dr. Rupinder Kaur Sodhi addressed the faculty members and students present and gave an interesting insight on theme of world Pharmacist day, “Think Health, Think Pharmacist”. Eminent speaker, Dr. Bikash Methi, (PGIMER, Chandigarh) gave a valuable insight on “Your safety, just a click away: Report to PvPI”. He highlighted the importance of patient safety and how each one of us can play a role in ensuring it. It was followed by another session on Goal and objectives of PvPI by Dr. Ajay Prakash, (PGIMER, Chandigarh).He emphasized the need for vigilance not only in drug use but also in the monitoring of medical devices.

Post lunch various activities like Quiz, poster presentation and reel competition was organized in which students participated enthusiastically. After that, HOD, Dr. Supriya Agnihotri concluded the event by shedding some light on the history of Pharmacy and role of Pharmacists in making the world a better place for everyone. Moreover she encouraged students to recognize the Pharmacy profession and implement their knowledge in routine life by reciting various examples. At the end of the day, the name of the top three winners from Quiz, poster making and reel competition, were announced and bestowed with trophies.
