Career Aspects and Global Scenario Of Pharmacy

An Expert talk on “Career Aspects and Global Scenario of Pharmacy” was organized by the Pharmacy Department in collaboration with IIC. The event commenced with a keynote address from Ms. Narinder, Pharmacist, Walgreens, Illinios, USA. She highlighted that Pharmacy is a dynamic and fulfilling career path because Pharmacists can work in various fields such as community Pharmacy, hospital Pharmacy, industrial Pharmacy, research, regulatory affairs, and academia. She underlined that the need for qualified pharmacists is anticipated to keep growing as the world's attention turns more and more toward healthcare. She coded examples of how clinical pharmacists work closely with medical teams to provide medication therapy management for patients, often in specialty areas such as cardiology, oncology, pediatrics, or critical care. They are involved in optimizing drug regimens based on patients’ health conditions. She concluded that the pharmacy sector in the USA offers diverse career opportunities in both clinical and non-clinical roles. As healthcare continues to evolve, pharmacists will have an increasing role in patient care, medication management, and public health. With the continued expansion of the pharmaceutical industry, research, and technology integration into healthcare, pharmacy professionals will remain integral to shaping the future of healthcare delivery. Additionally, she also told the students that in order for internationally qualified pharmacists to practice in the United States, they must pass tests like the IBT, FPGEE, NAPLEX, and MPJE in addition to fulfilling state-specific requirements. At the end of day, students asked questions and gained valuable insights from the lecture. Prof. (Dr.) Saurabh Sharma, Director Principal of CCP, and Prof. (Dr.) Supriya Agnihotri, HOD of CCP, honoured the distinguished guest with momento as a token of appreciation.
