Expert talk on Regulatory Affairs: Anticipating Horizon, Addressing Defiance, and Embracing Innovation in the Pharmaceutical Industry

An Expert talk on Regulatory Affairs in the Pharmaceutical Industry titled "Anticipating Horizon, Addressing Defiance, and Embracing Innovation" was organized by the Pharmacy Department in collaboration with IIC. The event commenced with a keynote address from Ms. Amita Pandey, Assistant General Manager at Venus Remedies Ltd. She highlighted the importance of Regulatory affairs in navigating the interface between innovation and compliance in the industry to ensure new therapies reach patients in adherence to strict regulatory guidelines. She emphasized the significance of three key pillars-Horizon, Defiance, and fostering innovative approaches. She further explained into the concept of Horizon scanning, emphasizing the proactive identification and evaluation of forthcoming regulatory modifications as crucial to a successful regulatory strategy. Additionally, she explained how Defiance in regulatory affairs presents formidable challenges stemming from issues such as non-compliance, conflicting regulations, and unforeseen regulatory obstacles. She concluded that Regulatory affairs in the Pharmaceutical industry require a multifaceted approach that encompasses horizon scanning, defiance management, and innovation facilitation. At the end of day, students asked questions and gained valuable insights from the lecture. Prof. (Dr.) Saurabh Sharma, Director Principal of CCP, and Prof. (Dr.) Supriya Agnihotri, HOD of CCP, honoured the distinguished guest with momento as a token of appreciation.
