Fire Safety Training Workshop cum Mock Drill

Chandigarh College of Pharmacy conducted a Fire Safety Training Workshop cum Mock Drill on 13 February 2026. The program aimed to strengthen emergency preparedness among faculty, non-teaching staff, and students. Its primary objective was to equip participants with comprehensive knowledge of the correct operation of fire extinguishers, appropriate evacuation protocols, and effective response strategies in situations involving fire, smoke, carbon monoxide exposure, or other emergencies. The workshop included a detailed discussion on fire hazards, classification of fires, fire safety measures, fire alarm systems, types and operation of fire extinguishers, and designated fire escape routes. The mock drill provided participants with an opportunity to practice emergency procedures in a simulated yet controlled environment. It also assessed their understanding and ability to execute emergency protocols efficiently, while identifying necessary improvements in response strategies. Practical demonstrations were conducted on the emergency fire action plan, fire information and classifications, as well as fire training and equipment maintenance procedures, thereby strengthening overall campus safety readiness.
