Five day workshop on - “Artificial Intelligence in Pharma Sector”

Chandigarh College of Pharmacy, Landran, in collaboration with Make intern, E-Cell (IIT Hyderabad), and IIC, organized a five-day workshop titled “Artificial Intelligence in Pharma Sector” from 3rd to 7th March 2025. The aim of the program was to provide hands-on training and raise awareness about the emerging role of artificial intelligence in the Pharma sector. The workshop began with an address by Dr. Rupinder Sodhi, Director Principal of Chandigarh College of Pharmacy, who welcomed the participants and highlighted the growing significance of AI in the pharmaceutical sector. She encouraged students to explore these innovative technologies. On the first day, the keynote speaker, Dr. Puneet Kacher from Accenture, India and consultant Make Intern, New Delhi delivered an insightful session on how AI is revolutionizing drug development, personalized medicine, and clinical trials. Over the following days, he discussed the latest advancements in machine learning, neural networks, and data analysis tools, all of which are enhancing pharmaceutical research. He also demonstrated several coding examples to illustrate these concepts. On the final day, students actively participated in a business model activity, showcased their skills and potential. Winners of the activity were presented with certificates in recognition of their achievements. This workshop, as an initiative by Chandigarh College of Pharmacy, not only provided participants with a comprehensive understanding of the current applications of AI in the pharmaceutical sector but also inspired them to explore future possibilities in this dynamic and transformative field.
