International workshop On “Heart-Failure-The silent Pandemic”

Pharmacy Department of Chandigarh Group of Colleges, Landran in collaboration with IIC organized International workshop on 27th October. The objective of this workshop was to raise awareness and provide knowledge about heart Failure. Campus director, Dr. P. N Hrisheekesha addressed the guests, faculty members and students present and spoke about importance of heart health. This was followed by an address by Director Principal, Dr. Saurabh Sharma who interacted with students and gave brief introduction of an International speaker, Dr. Tomoko S Kato, Tokyo Japan. Furthur on Dr.Tomko, speaker shared her valuable insights on heart transplantation and complications which may lead to death after heart transplantation. This session highlighted the current status and challenges of setting up transplant programs in India. She also discussed the causes of heart failure detection and prognostic prediction in heart failure patients. This was followed by second session on “Challenges in the management of heart failure in India” by eminent speaker, Dr.Deepak Puri,Max hospital. The workshop was concluded by cultural events and winners of various events conducted during Pharmacy week were bestowed with certificates.
