Staff Development Programme on “Basic Laboratory Practices and techniques”

In order to enrich the staff members with Basic Laboratory Practices and techniques, Chandigarh Colleges of Pharmacy, in collaboration with IIC, organized a 5 days staff development program from 19th- 24th June. Dr. Deepika Kathuria delivered an informative talk called "Safe Handling and Storage of Chemicals." She explained the impact of chemicals on the body and ways to mitigate exposure. She also emphasized the necessary laboratory precautions for safe work practices and provided general guidance for safely managing hazardous chemicals securely. She also elucidated few examples how we can control chemical spills carefully and efficiently. Following her session, Ms. Anubha Moudgil discussed Basic Laboratory Practices, while Dr. Deepika Sharma addressed the Code of Conduct in the laboratory. Furthermore, Mr. Jagjit Singh provided insights on the maintenance of lab stock registers, chemicals, glassware, and other relevant information. Staff members imposed their queries during sessions and greatly benefited from the workshop.
